Quem visita meu blog sabe que tenho o hábito de compartilhar não apenas o que produzo, mas também assuntos que dizem respeito ao fazer artesanal de modo geral. Gosto de pesquisar, aprender, e principalmente compartilhar com todos vocês.

Encontrei hoje na UOL um artigo bem interessante sobre o artesanato brasileiro, que é um dos mais ricos do mundo.

"Cerâmica e bonecos de barro

A cerâmica é uma das formas de arte popular e de artesanato mais desenvolvidas no Brasil. Dividida entre cerâmica utilitária e figurativa, essa arte feita pelos índios misturou-se depois à tradição barrista européia, e aos padrões africanos, e desenvolveu-se em regiões propícias à extração de sua matéria-prima - o barro. Nas feiras e mercados do Nordeste, podem-se ver os bonecos de barro que reconstituem figuras típicas da região: cangaceiros, retirantes, vendedores, músicos e rendeiras. Os mais famosos são os do pernambucano Mestre Vitalino (1909-1963), que deixou dezenas de descendentes e discípulos.

A cerâmica figurativa destaca-se também nos estados do Pará, Ceará, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe, Bahia, Espírito Santo, São Paulo e Santa Catarina. Nos demais estados, a cerâmica é mais do tipo utilitária (potes, panelas, vasos etc.)."
